MAXIMINVS-NOBCAES [MAXIMINVS NOB CAES]; bust l., helm. (crest ending in griffin), cuir., spear over r. shoulder, shield (decorated with two riders and four prisoners) on l. arm.

REVERSE

VIRTVSEX-ERCITVS [VIRTVS EXERCITVS]; Virtus [actually Mars] stg. facing, head l., in military dress, r. leaning on shield, l. on vertical spear. Altar in left field, Z in right field. ANT in exergue.

UNLISTED OFFICINA - Γ. RIC lists for this type officinae A, B, ς and I (p. 634). General note from p. 607: "Virtus Exercitus, for Galerius and Maximinus, was produced in very small quantity, though with two variants reserved for Maximinus with armoured and decorated busts".
