NOT IN RIC
|
UNLISTED OBVERSE LEGEND. RIC lists for Licinius only legend 1b: IMP C LIC LICINIVS [one "N"] P F AVG (p. 644). It is not a misprint in RIC (1b instead of 1a) because specimens with legend 1b also exist [click for example of ANTIOCHIA 170a]. General note about this issue from p. 611: "[...] only officinae A-AI and DI are evidenced, but it is probable that fifteen or fourteen were at work. The sole type is Herculi Victori, very rare for Licinius and Constantine, and scarce for Maximinus. Date, 313". Note that there is an error in RIC: officina mark is always in left field. See: CORRIGENDA, VOL. VI, p. 644. Coin should be listed before ANTIOCHIA 170a.
