Eldred and Michael, sons of Edward Allen Sydenham.

Edward A. Sydenham was the author of several books on ancient Roman coinage which are still regarded as standard reference works. Eldred St Barbe Sydenham was his son with his wife Ada Lilian, née Stone; he became an electrical engineer, and was the father of Elizabeth Millward, who wrote the article of which this photo forms part. "St Barbe" was a family name from the main Sydenham branch. Michael Wyndham Sydenham was the child of his second wife, Althea Josephine, née Walker; he became a mechanical engineer. Both ended their careers teaching at the Isle of Wight Technical College.
