Un asse di Augusto - C. Plotius Rufus

Per la prossima moneta, la 16° moneta, invierò 4 foto che avevo fatto tempo fa, nei prossimi gioni preparo le foto anche alla luce del giorno. Le chiedo sempre un suo parere sulla autenticità, e, dal suo stato di  conservazione, sapere un suo probabile valore venale. Seguo il format da lei fornito per darle più informazioni: 
Peso della moneta: 11.03 grammi. 
Diametro max: 26 mm 
Colore: marrone scuro 
Asse di conio: ore 6 
Tipologia lega metallica: mi sembra rame o bronzo
Presenza materiale ferromagnetico: Non attratta

mi sono già occupato di questa moneta in un paio di occasioni (v. link1 e link2). Riprendo ora l'argomento con riferimento al caso in esame e di seguito riporto gli elementi significativi che mi è stato possibile raccogliere:

Concludo osservando che, per quanto consentito da una valutazione a distanza, la moneta appare autentica; il suo valore venale nel presente stato di conservazione è di pochi euro.

(1) Secondo BMC, la monetazione in bronzo augustea ascrivibile alla zecca di Roma comprendeva sesterzi, dupondi, assi e quadranti. Nella tabella che segue sono sintetizzate le caratteristiche essenziali dei primi tre nominali:

(a) Gli assi della serie "trionfale" (7 a.C.) costituiscono un caso a sé, con la testa di Augusto a s. e dietro una piccola Vittoria.
(b) Gli assi più tardi del regno allungano la titolatura imperiale che, combinando IMP come prenome con IMPXX come cognome, si estende anche sul rovescio della moneta.
(c) Fa eccezione il rovescio dell'asse con il tipo della testa di  Numa Pompilio, riferimento alla famiglia di Calpurnius Piso che pretendeva di discendere da Calpus, figlio di Numa.
(d) Per ogni nominale vengono forniti, nell'ordine, il peso "teorico", il peso medio dei campioni in possesso del British Museum e tra parentesi il numero dei campioni utilizzati per calcolare la media.
(e) La seconda riga della casella riporta i dati del peso relativi  alla fine del regno.
Il dritto della moneta è quasi completamente abraso, tuttavia sembra di intravedere lungo il bordo, ad ore 4-5, un residuo di leggenda, il che consente di stabilire con certezza che la moneta è un asse e non un dupondio. 
(2) Raccolgo in tabella le caratteristiche fisiche degli assi (AE - bronzo) della tipologia di figura  tratti dai link di cui sopra:

Dalla tabella si evince che le caratteristiche fisiche della moneta in esame (11,03g, 26 mm, 6h) non si discostano da quelle dei conî d'epoca.
(3)  Nel 15 a.C., secondo il RIC (oppure nel 23 a.C., secondo BMC) operarono come magistrati monetali (il titolo per esteso era "Trevir Aere Argento Auro Flando Feriundo", da cui le iniziali IIIVIR AAAFF sul rovescio), CN PISO CN F, L NAEVIUS SURDINUS e C PLOTIUS RUFUS, che emisero monete di uguale tipologia ma diversa leggenda del rovescio. Dei tre magistrati, l'ultimo, è il responsabile della moneta di figura.
(4) CAESAR AVGVSTVS TRIBUNICIA POTESTate. Dopo il 12 a.C. la leggenda del dritto sugli assi diventa CAESAR AVGVSTVS PONT MAX TRIBVNIC POTEST.
(5) . Si noterà che nella moneta in esame le lettere V ed F all'interno del nome RVFVS sono unite in nesso, si noterà anche che questa particolarità, pur citata dal RIC, non viene distinta con uno specifico categorico rispetto all'altra con le lettere disunite. Ciò premesso, mi pare degno di sottolineare che il nesso in questa tipologia è piuttosto raro, visto che, a quanto mi risulta, non se ne trova traccia nel web (v. link di cui sopra).
