dell'esame ritengo
che la moneta presenti caratteristiche fisiche, generali e di stile
coerenti
con i conî d'epoca. Il valore venale della moneta, nel presente
stato
di conservazione, potrebbe aggirarsi attorno ai 50,00€.

Secondo un'analisi di BMC,
il peso del sesterzio di Severo Alessandro oscilla tra 14,75g e 33,74g,
con un addensamento intorno ai 20-21g. In conclusione, considerando
anche
i dati in tabella, mi pare si possa concludere che il sesterzio di
figura,
anche se un po' leggero (16 g, 26-30 mm, asse 0h), rientri negli ampi
margini
di varianza dei conî d'epoca.

moneta la leggenda del rovescio viene utilizzata non già per
descrivere
il tipo bensì per illustrare i titoli del sovrano, in primo
luogo
quello di pontefice massimo, quindi quello di tribuno, di console e di
padre della patria. La moneta è datata, come indica l'ordinale
nono
(VIIII) della potestà tribunizia che il Senato rinnovò al
sovrano ogni anno, sino alla morte. Secondo il sito francese http://www.inumis.com/rome/articles/alexandre/alexandre3.html
la moneta fu battuta dalla 2a officina della zecca di Roma
nell'ambito
della XIa emissione del regno di Severo Alessandro (in un
periodo
compreso tra gli inizi e la metà dell'anno 230 d.C.).
L'emissione
comprendeva due tipi molto simili, uno quello di questa moneta,
l'altro,
assai simile, nel quale il Sole sorregge con la mano sinistra una
frusta
(v. link).
