Salve,
innanzitutto le faccio i miei più sentiti complimenti per il servizio che Lei attraverso il sito offre. Le scrivo perché un amico mi ha chiesto se potevo trovargli informazioni riguardo a questa sua moneta. Girovagando per la rete ho notato nel suo sito che esistono monete simili a questa false. Per questa ragione ho pensato di rivolgermi a Lei. Voglio sottolineare che ho trovato in un sito che non ricordo quale, per una moneta simile, le seguenti informazioni: Domitian 81-96 CE Obv:IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P VI, laureate head right. Rx:IMP XII COS XII CENS P P P, Minerva standing left, holding spear and thunderbolt, shield resting against back of leg. RIC 86

Le allego l'immagine trovata in quel sito con il nome di "trovataInInternet.jpg".

Per quanto riguarda la moneta del mio amico è salvata nell'immagine "Moneta.jpg".
    * peso della moneta: circa 3 gr
    * diametro: 2 cm parte più larga, 1,85 cm più stretta
    * colore: argento scurito
    * asse di conio: circa ore 7 oppure 210 gradi
    * tipologia della lega metallica: nickel forse??? vado a tentativi...
    * presenza di materiale ferro-magnetico nel tondello: nessun magnetismo
    * la URL (cioè l'indirizzo) della pagina web dalla quale è stato tratto l'indirizzo dello scrivente: http://www.forumancientcoins.com/monetaromana/

Concludo osservando che, a prescindere dall'aspetto generale e dallo stile, la moneta è certamente un riconio moderno, come indica la piccola R in basso nel rovescio.

Come si può osservare dalla tabella, il peso e il diametro della moneta di figura (c. 3g, 18-20mm, 7h) sono compatibili con i denari.
(2) IMPerator CAESar DOMITianus AVGustus GERManicus Pontifex Maximus TRibunicia Potestate V. Come suo padre Vespasiano, Domiziano utilizza il praenomen Imperator, insieme al titolo dinastico Caesar, come prefazione della sua titolatura.
(3) IMPerator XI COnSul XII CENSor Perpetuus Pater Patriae. Domiziano fu designato a ricoprire l'incarico di console per la dodicesima volta nell'86 d. C., ciò che consente di datare la moneta.
(4) Minerva, la dea patrona di Domiziano, è presente (BMC I, pag. lxxxv) sulle sue monete in quattro varianti:

come Athena Alkis, dea della guerra (v. esempio);
in piedi su una prua con accanto la civetta, nelle vesti di dea della flotta e in genere degli eserciti (v. esempio);
in piedi a sinistra appoggiata all'asta, in un atteggiamento meno bellicoso, come nella moneta di figura (v. esempio);
in piedi a sinistra che impugna l'asta e il fulmine, nelle vesti di supplente di Giove (v. esempio).

(5) In nessuna moneta di Domiziano troviamo il tipo della Minerva Pacifera, segno, secondo BMC, della predilezione dell'imperatore per le le glorie militari rispetto all'impegno per la pace.
