An impressive medallion with most of the original silvering still visible, a bold portrait struck in high relief. Extremely fine.

(2) IMPerator Caesar Marcus ANNius Traggo dal manuale dello Stevenson, disponibile on line, le seguenti notizie concernenti questo sovrano: Floriano, che aveva seguito il fratello Tacito in Oriente, alla morte di quest'ultimo fu riconosciuto imperatore dal Senato (276) e da tutte le province meno che la Siria la quale sosteneva invece Probo. Prima che scoppiasse la guerra tra le due fazioni rivali, Floriano fu assassinato nei pressi di Tarso dai suoi stessi soldati. Nonostante Floriano avesse regnato per soli tre mesi, le sue monete presentano una notevole varietà a dimostrazione del fatto che la zecca di Rom fu molto attiva nel battere moneta con la sua effigie.
