Filippo I l'Arabo e la Felicitas

Avendo trovato questa moneta, le chiedo gentilmente di avere informazioni più dettagliate soprattutto su quale imperatore è che epoca risale ed eventualmente il valore. Il diametro e di 2,7 - 2,8 cm.

Descrizione sommaria (sono indicate in rosso le parti della leggenda usurate o comunque non più leggibili):

R.  P M TR P IIII COS II P P4. La Felicitas in piedi a sinistra sorregge un lungo caduceo ed una cornucopia. S C a sinistra e a destra nel campo.5

It is on a nice, smooth-edge flan, it has an attractive brown patina, and has a very appealing, sharp portrait. The light specks visible on the scan are not on the coin. Some of the letters of the legends are softly struck and there is one very small dark spot of encrustion at 5:o'clock on reverse which is insignificant in the overall appearance of the coin. It is guaranteed authentic and as described. Currently $65.00 Ends 10/29/98.

Concludo osservando che lo stile della moneta appare accettabile tuttavia, in assenza di dati sul peso, mi astengo da conclusioni relative all'autenticità ed al valore della moneta.

Le caratteristiche fisiche della moneta di figura andrebbero comparate con quelle dei valori sopra tabulati per determinare con certezza il tipo di nominale. Ad ogni modo ritengo improbabile che la moneta possa essere un asse dal momento che la ricerca effettuata nel web non ha consentito di evidenziarne alcuno di pari tipologia.
(2) Sostiene Jérôme Mairat nel sito, http://www.inumis.com/rome/articles/philippe/philippe2-fr.html che la moneta di figura fu emessa a Roma nel 247, sesta emissione di quella zecca, dalla prima delle sei officine operanti nel periodo.
