Venendo ora al conio di figura, osservo che, in mancanza degli elementi oggettivi di riscontro indicati in nota 1, posso solo valutarne soggettivamente l'aspetto generale e lo stile utilizzando foto scattate in condizioni infelici di illuminazione. Soggettivamente rilevo dunque che:
  • in assenza di usura da circolazione (come nel link n° 12), la moneta presenta solo tracce significative di porosità e di sfaldamento superficiale non distribuite uniformemente che non spiegano la scomparsa di particolari significativi del rovescio, laddove, ad esempio, la Vittoria appare appena grossolanamente accennata e la dea Roma è priva del collo di un piede e della testa; 
  • i capelli di Nerone dietro alla nuca si presentano scomposti invece che ben pettinati, la leggenda di esergo segue l'arco di curvatura del tondello invece di sottendere la linea di esergo, come avviene per le monete presenti nei link di cui sopra;
  • la leggenda del dritto è perfettamente leggibile, ma realizzata con lettere prive di rilievo, come del resto privi di rilievo sono i tipi del dritto e del rovescio; ciò potrebbe essere l'effetto di una percussione non sufficientemente violenta oppure il risultato di una foto poco chiara;
  • il profilo di Nerone appare accettabile, anche se il collo sembra meno robusto.
In conclusione, sussistono pro e contro in ordine all'autenticità della moneta e pertanto, in assenza di riscontri oggettivi, mi astengo da un giudizio di autenticità.

A titolo puramente informativo, posto che la moneta sia autentica, in considerazione delle sue attuali condizioni di usura, visto lo scarso dettaglio dei particolari, visti i valori d'asta sopra riportati (si veda ad es. link 4), ritengo che potrebbe avere un valore venale dell'ordine dei 150,00 Euro.

Le caratteristiche fisiche note del denario di figura, 17 mm, 5h, sono insufficienti a consentirne l' esame esaustivo; in particolare, in assenza del peso e dell'indicazione della eventuale ferromagneticità del tondello (accertabile con una calamita) non è possibile un confronto oggettivo con i conî d'epoca, né è possibile escludere che la lega metallica presenti una componente ferrosa, incompatibile con il denario che all'epoca di Nerone veniva battuto su un tondello d'argento, puro al 95%. Inoltre la montatura cela alcuni particolari essenziali della moneta, come il bordo, perlinato nell'originale ed il "taglio", cioè il bordo verticale che consente di verificare se la moneta sia stata realizzata attraverso un calco o invece un conio per percussione tra incudine e martello.
(2) Questo denario rappresenta la dea Roma; riporto in proposito il parere del Sear, secondo il quale la dea personificava la capitale imperiale dalla quale emanava tutto il potere di Roma. La figura elegante seduta, secondo l'autore, trae chiara ispirazione da rappresentazioni simili di Atena sulla monetazione greca del 3° secolo a. C. di Lisimaco e dei re di Pergamon. Si tratta di un tipo piuttosto frequente nella monetazione neroniana specie di bronzo e senza dubbio commemora la ricostruzione della città dopo l'incendio del 64 d.C.
