La Spes di Vespasiano

Ecco un’altra moneta di cui mi trovo in possesso, mi farebbe piacere conoscere un suo parere sulla sua provenienza, e se può trattarsi di una moneta autentica oppure no. Spero mi possa essere di aiuto. Allego le due immagini della moneta sperando che possano soddisfarla. Nel caso in cui non dovessero essere abbastanza chiare me lo faccia sapere che cercherò di inviargliele più chiare. Le elenco i dati caratteristici:

Per quanto riguarda l'autenticità della moneta, non sono in grado di darle una risposta definitiva. Infatti dettagli significativi dei personaggi raffigurati sono andati perduti, il rovescio risulta alla vista appena abbozzato, nel complesso tuttavia lo stile sembra accettabile. Il peso, come accennato, è inferiore a quello degli assi dello stesso tipo reperiti nel web. Tuttavia la carenza di peso potrebbe trovare giustificazione nella frastagliatura dei bordi e nella conseguente perdita di parti metalliche. Quello che andrebbe spiegato, per questo la moneta andrebbe esaminata da vicino con una lente, è da cosa sia stata originata la frastagliatura e la ragione delle tracce di colore bianco-rossiccio che si notano sul dritto a fronte del colore uniforme nel resto del tondello.

Dalla tabella si evince che le caratteristiche fisiche dell'asse di figura comunicate dal lettore (8,3 g, 26 mm, 6 H) si differenziano dai conî d'epoca, almeno per quanto riguarda il peso. Il peso dell'asse di Vespasiano, secondo BMC, è di 10,75g (media su 75 esemplari). Il lettore dovrebbe verificare se quello indicato per la sua moneta sia corretto.
(2) La moneta viene datata sulla base del settimo consolato (COS VII) conferito a Vespasiano nel 76.
(3) IMPerator CAESAR VESPasianus AVGustus COnSul VII. Si noterà come il titolo di "imperator", indicativo del comando militare, sia utilizzato come praenomen da tutti i sovrani della famiglia flavia. Il titolo dinastico di Caesar viene dai Flavi mutuato dalla famiglia Giulio-Claudia. (4) Come al solito, le lettere SC indicano che la moneta fu coniata per decreto del Senato (Senatus Consulto) cui spettava la competenza della monetazione di bronzo. La personificazione della Spes ovvero della Speranza (iconografia basata sul profilo - di solito a sinistra - della Kore arcaica ovvero delle statue di "Persefone", come suggerisce il sito: http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/kinney/small/n3.htm), viene di solito rappresentata nella monetazione romana come leggiadra fanciulla che si muove a passo di danza recando un fiore e sollevando un lembo della veste. Secondo BMC, la Speranza è probabilmente quella che Vespasiano ripone in Domiziano, principe della gioventù, visto come erede nella linea di successione.
