Ceres was the Roman goddess of agriculture. She was equivalent to the Greek Demeter. The ear of wheat and the barley-grain serve to identify her. The curule chair (sella curulis) was the official chair of the 'curule' magistracies: the consulship, the praetorship, and the 'curule' aedileship (the two highest aediles). The fasces were bundles of rods bound together. The rods symbolized the power to inflict physical punishment. When an axe (securis) was bound in the middle of the rods, it signified the power to inflict death. The accent mark over the "V" is unusual, but is occasionally found in inscriptions.

Dall'esame della tabella si evince che i parametri comunicati dal lettore (peso e asse di conio), sono compatibili con i conî d'epoca.
(2) A differenza del Crawford, il Sydenham mette in evidenza l'esistenza di una variante della tipologia del dritto di questa moneta nella quale la testa di Cerere presenta un ricciolo dei capelli che ricade sul collo. Esempi di questa variante si ritrovano, oltre che nella moneta di figura, anche in alcune di quelle i cui link sono sopra indicati.
(3) III VIR/ BROCCHI. Trevir Brocchi è il titolo ed il nome del magistrato monetale nel nome del quale la moneta fu battuta. Come si evince dal Dizionario biografico e mitologico greco e romano dello Smith, consultabile anche in rete (v. http://www.ancientlibrary.com/smith-bio/0515.html), BROCCHUS, era all'origine un soprannome (o "cognomen") che si applicava ad una persona dai denti sporgenti. Era anche il "cognomen" di una famiglia della gens Furia che si ritrova sulle monete. Il Brocchus monetiere non è però citato dagli scrittori antichi; può darsi che sia stato un triumviro preposto alla zecca o all'acquisto di grano. 
(4) L FVRI CN. F - Lucius FVRIus CNei Filius Brocchus è quindi il nome per esteso del monetiere. Il tipo del rovescio (la sedia curule) potrebbe richiamare l'esistenza di un antenato che aveva rivestito la carica di "Edile" (carica assai importante in quanto apriva la strada al consolato) o la disponibilità, nel caso di elezioni a quella carica, a promuovere elargizioni di grano (di qui i riferimenti a Cerere e ai suoi attributi - spighe e chicchi - nel tipo del dritto).
