le invio le immagini di una moneta (le sarei grato se mi indicasse quale), con al dritto la scritta: IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRI(A)NVS AVG  e al rovescio: P? (non molto leggibile) M T R P COS III. I dati sono i seguenti:
peso: non lo so. 
diametro mm: 18 circa
asse: il retro è quasi perfettamente rovesciato rispetto al dritto
colorazione: argentea
effetti alla calamita: nessuno

Le caratteristiche di stile della moneta appaiono compatibili con i conî d'epoca. Una valutazione di autenticità non può prescindere dalla comparazione del peso della moneta con le indicazioni numeriche in nota 2. Il diametro della moneta non è infatti un elemento significativo. L'asse di conio è compatibile con i conî d'epoca.

(1) RIC sostiene che, durante il periodo adrianeo, salvo sporadiche eccezioni segnalate volta per volta dall'autore ed esclusa la monetazione provinciale, la gran massa delle monete fu prodotta dalla zecca di Roma.
(2) Il denario adrianeo pesava 3,21g (come media su 733 campioni); peso di picco 3,17g. Esso aveva un contenuto di fine dell'ordine del 75-85%, il resto della lega essendo costituito per lo più da rame. Della moneta di figura si conoscono numerose varianti che tra loro differiscono per la diversa distribuzione delle lettere della leggenda del dritto lungo il bordo della moneta o per la presenza/assenza del drappeggio. Quella di figura non rientra tra le varianti in possesso del British Museum delle quali di seguito riporto, a titolo di confronto, le caratteristiche fisiche:

(3) IMPerator CAESAR TRAIANvs HADRIANVS AVGvstvs. Con il colore rosso si è indicata la parte illeggibile della leggenda.
(4) Riferisce BMC che l'Aequitas è una virtù dell'imperatore. Essa porta la bilancia, suo invariabile attributo e la cornucopia, tipico della Fortuna, da quest'ultima condiviso con altre potenze caritatevoli, simbolo della ricchezza magica. Ma forse su questa moneta si deve veder rappresentata "Moneta", la dea protettrice della zecca imperiale. Era cosa insolita far riferimento sulle monete ai donativi alle truppe ma se si batteva questa tipologia monetale, era per mostrare chi reggeva i cordoni della borsa.
