PRABHU'S WEB PAGE ON INDIAN COINAGE

By hobby I am a numismatist, but by profession I am a consultant working in the field of Electronics Integrated Circuits design.  I am basically from Karkala, a popular Jain Centre of Karnataka, India,  which you would realize by viewing my Alupas Collection .

My interests are many.  They mainly fall in the field of Manual and Digital Photography, South Indian Carnatic Instumental Music (Mridangam),  Pencil sketching, Architectural study, etc.,  I love travelling; I have travelled most of the Asian countries for exploring its architecturally important monuments. I was always interested in collecting coins since my childhood and did so by getting it from my friends and relatives.  Today, I am having quite a reasonable number of varieties of coins and I guess they are just enough to depict the Indian history at least  to little extent.

By chance, if you wonder how to get into this hobby, here is my sincere advice. You do not need big bucks, few tens of rupees would be enough to begin with even 2000 year old coins. If you are interested in persuing this hobby or to enhance your numismatic collection, you need to know where to source it from.  It may not be that easy, but I can guide you.  I hope this hobby fascinates you and hope you will share the information with me and others who are actively into it.

Please feel free to contact me if I can be of help to you. Your comments on my web page are most welcome.   Please take a moment to bookmark this URL.
