Crispus was born c. 300, the son of Constantine I and Minervina.

Crispus was active in helping his father in his wars against Licinius. The outcome was a treaty signed at Serdica on 1st March 317, in which Crispus and his brother, Flavius Claudius Constantinus (Constantine II), were proclaimed Caesars.
