MAXIMUS (Gaius. Julius Verus Maximus)The son of Maximinus I, Maximus was probably given the rank of Caesar at the same time as his father became Augustus. He was murdered with his father at Aquileia on June 24th, 238. The assassins took the heads of Maximinus and his son to Ravenna, where Pupienus was mustering troops, and then on to Rome. |
