Annia LUCILLA
- Annia Lucilla was the eldest daughter of Marcus Aurelius and Faustina Junior and was born about 148 AD. She was married to Lucius Verus in 164 AD and granted the title of “Augusta”. After his death in 169 AD, she was married to Pompeianus, a man of humble origin.
- In 180 AD, after the death of Marcus Aurelius, his son Commodus, Lucilla's brother, became Emperor.
- Commodus's rule led to a series of attempts on his life, the first, in 182, being instigated by Lucilla.
- Quintianus the potential assassin was executed and Lucilla was banished to Capreae and soon afterwards put to death.
