Commemorates the lifting of the Siege of Maastricht. Curiously. the medal is dated 1676 while the siege ended in 1673. Maastricht was given back to the Dutch in the Treaty of Nijmegan in 1678-9. This siege is where the historical figure of Comte d'Artagnan, the inspiration for Alexandre Dumas' character, was killed.LordBest
