Australia, Tasmania: Lewis AbrahamsAndrews 1, Renniks 1, KM Tn7
Penny token , copper; dated 1855 and minted by Heaton and Sons of Birmingham, England. 34.0 mm., 0°
Obv.: LEWIS ABRAHAMS / DRAPER / LIVERPOOL STREET / HOBART TOWN
Rev.: Emu facing right and kangaroo facing left, TASMANIA above and 1855 BELOW
Although there is no listing in the Archives Office of Tasmania Pioneer's Database for a Lewis Abrahams, records show that he occupied a house and garden at 19 Bathurst Street in Hobart Town in 1835, and was then in partnership with a certain H.C. Davis in a shop at 102 Liverpool Street. This token indicates that in 1855 he was operating without Davis as a draper on Liverpool Street. It appears that Davis withdrew from the partnership and Abrahams carried on alone.
Abrahams is listed as a contributor to the fund for the construction of the Hobart Synagogue in 1844-1845, and as a “seatholder” (financial member) of the Hobart Hebrew Congregation for some time during the period 1852-1877. He was married in the Hobart Synagogue in December 1855. He died in Hobart in 1860.

The Isle of Man was granted to the Stanley family in perpetuity by the English King Henry IV. The Act brought the Island under UK customs service control specifically to prevent the Island from being used for smuggling. The 1786 copper coins bearing the effigy of King George III first were the first issue of coins for the Island under British rule. This was eleven years before copper pence were circulated on the mainland.StkpMar 23, 2024

The San Fan, or Three Feudatories, were Ming commanders who joined forces with the Manchus and were rewarded with control of provinces, which they ruled as virtually autonomous kingdoms. Wu Sangui was awarded control of Yunnan. However, in 1673 the Beijing court decided to abolish the feudatories. Wu rose in rebellion in December 1673, and proclaimed the start of the new Da Zhou Dynasty. He proclaimed himself emperor in March 1678 but died of dysentery that October.

As both sides carry a titular legend, there is no consensus regarding obverse and reverse. Huszár, Pohl and Toma identify the side with the crown as the obverse whereas Unger, Réthy, Frynas, Lengyel, Tóth and Gyöngyössy identify the side with the patriarchal cross as the obverse.
The type was struck in 1383-1387 (per Lengyel) or in 1384-1395 (per Huszár, with Unger and Frynas agreeing that it incepted in 1384) or in 1385-1395 (per Pohl), and is traditionally viewed as the last of three denarii struck by Maria. More recently, it has been viewed as the second type struck by her (after Huszár 565 and before Huszár 566), per Lengyel, Tóth, Gyöngyössi and Toma. Those with an S below the crown were possibly struck in Syrmien in 1386-1395 (per Pohl) or in 1385 by János Szereszen (per Lengyel).
No coins of this type were contained in the Cluj-Mănăştur Hoard, found in Cluj-Napoca, Romania (formerly, Kolozsvár, Hungary), in 1934.

The standard Huszár 569 was struck in 1384-1395 (per Huszár, with Unger and Frynas agreeing that it incepted in 1384) or in 1385-1395 (per Pohl), and is traditionally viewed as the last of three denarii struck by Maria.
