John Hyrcanus II "Yonatan", (Hasmonean King), Æ, 67, 63-40 BCEBronze prutah of John Hyrcanus II "Yonatan", 14mm, 2.3 gr. Minted circa 47 to 40 BCE. This coin of Hyrcanus II was part of a large issue of coins that were overstruck on coins of Alexander Jannaeus, the overstrike was so consistent it is believed that it actually occurred in the mint before the coins were released.
Obverse: Double cornucopia overstruck on anchor.
Reverse: Hebrew overstruck on Lily.
