In her character as sister of Apollo, Artemis is like her brother armed with a bow, quiver, and arrows, and sends plague and death to men and animals. As Apollo was not only a destructive god, but also averted the evils which it was in his power to inflict, so Artemis at the same time cured and alleviated the sufferings of mortals.

Hermes, known as herald of the gods, was originally a stone deity, from 'herma', a stone heap as boundary or landmark, known from pre-historic times in Crete and other Greek regions.

The rev. is known from coins of Macrinus (AMNG 1711) and Diadumenian (AMNG 1822) too. It seems to be the same tropaion which is found on the famous types showing the procession with the quadriga from Severus, Macrinus and Diadumenian.

Pick: The head is surely unbearded, and seems to be female due to the hair-do. It can't be

goddess of Nikopolis.

This is the earliest and most elegant depiction of the Praxiteles statue which is described by Pliny the Elder in his Natural History 34.69-70, but without an arrow on this type. Pick: 'May be that there is a lizard creeping up the tree.' Here the lizard could be seen clearly.

Pick writes to this coin: Because of the crude style of this coin it is uncertain wether the face of Carcalla or that of Elagabalus is meant; but the former is more probable, because the type occurs under Severus and because on the coins of Elagabalus the addition PROC I(CTRON) otherwise never is lacking.

Now I think Pick's attribution of this coin to Caracalla is not correct. It should be better listed under Elagabal:
(1) The portrait is not so crude that we see that it better resembles Caracalla than Elagabal.
(2) Behind LITWN here is clearly a P, the first letter of PROC. So the last of Pick's argument
goes astray.
(3) Varbanov's attribution is not reliable because he tooks it from Pick.

Therefore I think it is Elagabal and an unpublished type.

c) Hristova/Hoeft/Jekov (2018) No.8.18.54.2 (same dies)
rare (R5), about VF

The term 'kyrios' is used mainly in the sacral area (see 'kyrie eleison') and appears only rarely on coins. Here 'kyriois' refers not to gods but to the emperors Septimius Severus and Caracalla. The inscription is a congratulation of the city of Nikopolis to the rulers on the occasion of the elevation of Caracalla to Augustus (AMNG p.346). This type is known for Septimius and Geta too.

The portrait, the legend error and the unusual beginning of the rev. legend, suggest that this is a barbarian imitation.
It could well be Elagabal. But I tend to Caracalla.

From Forum Ancient Coins, thanks!

Small c above G of GETAC not mentioned. At No. 8.20.32.1 Pick writes: "The small c naturally belongs to KAIC". So on this coin Geta has the titel KAICAR twice: (1) As K in K L CEP, and (2) as KAIC below the busts.
Pick writes "in ex. PROC I". But here and on the depicted coin in HrHJ (2018) the ex. seems to be outside the flan.

One of the rarest coins of Nikopolis. HrHJ (2018) does know of only 1 ex. of this type. So it was called R10. Now this 2nd ex. turned up and the rarity has to be reduced to R9. And BTW It's the only coin of Nikopolis depicting the entire Severan family on one coin!
