Legend; IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG
Reverse legend; FORTVNA REDVX
Reverse type, Fortuna seated left with rudder and cornucopia.
Mint; Antioch, 242 -244 AD. 3.3 grams
Poor Gordian III. Despite the optimistic boosterism of the reverse legend here, Fortuna did not 'redvx' for him nor the empire for quite a bit. Indeed, things got worse before they got better...BanjaxedJul 08, 2015

I cannot get the camera to convey just how exquisite this tiny coin is.
You will have to take my word on that and also that the reverse legend
is as I say it is here. The reverse legend does come out more 'in person'.BanjaxedJul 08, 2015

Not the greatest example due to a nasty scratch on her face and a fair bit of wear on the obverse, but hey, are there any of us perfect? :)

Koinion of Macedonia - Alexander and BucephalusSimilar to the example provided in a discussion on the portraiture of Alexander on coinage at:
http://rg.ancients.info/alexander/portrait.html
That is described as:
"Koinon of Macedonia bronze (AE-26) from Beroea, Macedonia, c. 222-235 AD, Sear Greek Imperial 4808v."
Although in this version, Alexander seems to be charging forward with a raised hand or sword. It is Koinion of Macedonia, it is Alexander and it is Bucephalus, but I don't know the precise mint nor year. Let's call it 3rd century.
