Probus

I have never been able to produce a decent photograph of a coin myself, but recently my old friend Mauseus very kindly photographed a batch for me. Looking at the results I became conscious of how mixed their conditions are, but I have decided to add them to some albums nevertheless, and this is the first. I would be grateful for any corrections/ additions to the attributions I have given.

Struck for Khusro II, but using modified types of Heraclius. There are 2 sizes, the usual small ones (mine is 5.9 gm, 18.5 mm) and these larger module ones, about 4 times as heavy and double the diameter. How the two were valued against each other is a mystery.ManzikertJan 01, 2007
