Domitian RIC II 0070
Domitian 81-96 A.D. AR Denarius. Rome Mint, Sept. 13-Dec. 31, 81 A.D. (2.87g, 18.3m, 6h). Obv: IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG PM, laureate head right. Rev: TR P COS VII DES VIII P P, seat, draped; above, winged thunderbolt. RIC II 70.

Produced in the first months of Domitianís reign, this denarius carries over a pulvinaria reverse type previously produced under Titus. Although worn, this coin has a full flan and full a legend. The legend also maintains the anti-clockwise, outward from lower right orientation on the obverse at this point during Domitianís reign.
