Yap Island, Micronesia
|
A 400-year old flagged stone trail on Yap Island, leads down to village and into a "stone money" bank. There are several similar stone money banks on the island. Way back when, the Yapese voyaged 700 miles across the sea in out-rigger canoes to the island of Palau, where they mined and wrought these stones.
