Cr 44/1 AR Victoriatus Anonymous
after 211 BC. AR Victoriatus (17mm, 3.14g, 11h) Rome mint
O: Laureate head of Jupiter r.
R: Victory standing r., crowning trophy
Crawford 44/1
[my opinion: Although Victoriati can be seen as excruciatingly repetitive, with good reason, the obverse of this coin shows considerable artistry in execution.]

These anonymous victoriatii are really tough to attribute, but I think this is probably RRC 44/1 instead of 53/2. This assessment is based on the limited detail in the wings of Victory - They are just kind of lines which is characteristic of 44, and the base on the trophy, which is almost never seen on 53/1. The obverse style looks like 44 to me too. Nice well centered example with an exceptional obverse.

Update, with thanks to SteveB5, I agree, and re-attributed, based on Friedman and Schaefer's helpful guide, linked on your site via Andrew McCabe's site. Clearly the wings are simpler, no small feathers, and another difference, from 53 is, as F&S note, "Jupiter looks powerful or arrogant". Thanks!
