This coin seems heavy to be plated silver. I have yet to weigh it. I believe the core to be lead; however, I am unsure.

Great coin... anything other than metal indicate an ancient counterfeit? Style or legend errors?

It looks official to me Wolf; however, I think the person who struck this coin was a bit crooked and pocketed the remaining gold for himself (or struck a solid gold Solidus or two and kept em with the excess gold!)

Definitely not official. Letters, portrait, globus cruciger and Victory's wings are quite off. But still an impressive job by the ancient counterfeiter.

I agree Joe. I've been studying the lettering ..and it just isn't "right".
