I love the brow and eyes, but that nostril hole makes me cringe.

That "nostril hole" looks like a slip up during the engraving, which makes the coin more interesting, IMHO.

Haha, I do like your idea that it was some kind of engraver's folly, but I didn’t notice it for some reason until well after I owned it. It was one of those “once you see, you can’t unsee” things. Now it is the only feature of the coin that I am aware of. I no longer have a denarius, but an ancient large nostril.

I've seen several denarii from the same time period with similar nostril holes - perhaps it is the work of one particular die cutter and not a "slip up" as I earlier stated?
