Orodes I, AE Tetradrachm
Orodes I, AE Tetradrachm, Late 1st Century to early 2nd Century A.D.

Obv. Diademed Bust left with a pointed bread and bushy hair behind head.  Star and crescent above anchor with a double bar to left of bust.  Inscription before bust, either "wrwd" or "urud".
Rev. Blundered legend around a crude bust left.

Weight 15.58 grams

This is one of the coins that caused the change in the chronology of Elymais coins, because of the inscription in front of the bust.  See Bell's article in [i]The Celator[/i], Vol. 16, No. 4, April 2002.
