Persian Fouree Siglios
Persian Empire, Artaxerxes I-Darius III, c. 450-330 B.C. Lydia. Fouree Siglos (half-stater). (4.51g, 15.1m). Obv: Beardless archer, the Great King, kneeling right, dagger in right, bow in left. Obv: Oblong punch. Compare Sear Greek 4682. Ex Warren Esty.

A very early example of a fouree coin. It appears forgers have been plying their trade almost as long as the cealtors.

Interesting! 1 gram underweight, I might have expected some major test cuts
