Domitian 81-96 A.D. Rome Mint. 13 Sept.-31 Dec. 81 A.D. (3.37g, 18m, 6h) Obv: IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG P M, laureate head right. Rev: TR P COS VII DES VIII P P, Minerva adv. Right with spear and shield. RIC II 58. Ex David Atherton.

A common coin in uncommon condition from Domitianís first months as emperor. The majority of Domitianís denarii from these months use the plvinaria reverses carried over from Titus. This Minerva type was carried over from Domitianís type as Caesar under Titus
