Vespasian RIC II 1555
|
Vespasian 69-79 A.D. AR Denarius. Antioch Mint 72-73 A.D. (3.23 g./16.5m). Obv: IMP CAES VESP AVG P M COS IIII, laureate head right. Rev: NEP RED, Neptune standing left, foot on globe, acrostolium in right, long vertical scepter in left. RIC II 1555, RPC II 1928. RSC II 274. Ex Forvm.
Tight flan. High relief portrait which does not show well in picture. I must be learning something because I think I could tell the style was not quite the same and the Flavians I have minted in Rome. Love this coin.
