Vespasian RIC II 0983
Vespasian. 69-79 A.D. Rome Mint. 77, July- 78, Dec. (3.31g, 18mm, 7hr). Obv: CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, laureate head left. Rev: IMP XIX in exergue; sow l. with three piglets. RIC II 983, BMC 214, RSC 214. Ex CNG.

A scarce left facing portrait on one of Vespasianís agrarian series. While the updated RIC lists the left facing varieties of the agrarian series as common, they are much more difficult to find than the left. With an oblong flan and wear, this example still has complete legends.
