Vespasian RIC II 0940
Vespasian. 69-79 A.D. AR Denarius. Rome 77-78A.D. (3.42g, 17.0mm, 6hr). Obv: IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, laureate head left. Rev: COS VIII, Mars standing l. with spear and trophy and to r., corn ear. RIC II 940 (R), RSC 127, BMC 203 var. Ex Forum.

This type was issued with, and without the corn ear to the right of Mars. The addition of the corn ear fits into the agrarian theme introduced in Vespasianís coinage during the same time period. A well centered example of this type with complete legends.
