Magnificent coin and brilliant photo. This is the plate coin in Sear Millennium edition Roman Coins and Their Values. Refer page 338, Sear 1730 for a photo of this exact coin. If my recall is correct, it was sold at auction (one of the NY auctions) again in the last couple of years since posted in this gallery?

Later edit: The loop was closed on the matters raised in the discussion thread titled "One in the same COL NEM?" (index.php?topic=72301.0) where the Sear 1730 plate coin identity was confirmed and the sale of the coin in Gemini III noted.

This coin was, regrettably, sold in the Gemini III auction. I don't know what dark forces came over me when I decided to sell! Thanks all for the wonderful comments.

A brain explosion perhaps? But I see you are you back after a bit of a hiatus with a new group of sensational beauties!
