MARINIANA. Commemorative AR Antoninianus of Rome. Struck A.D.253 - 254 under Valerian I.

[i]Reverse[/i]: CONSECRATIO. Mariniana being borne to heaven seated on the back of a peacock flying right.

[i]Mariniana was the wife of Valerian I but it would seem that she must have died before he became emperor because all of her coins are posthumous commemoratives.[/i]
