ALFOLDI 006.004 (3 ex. cited)
COLLECTION NO. 1317
Very rare variant of this otherwise popular reverse type (Alfoldi reverse type no. 6) in which there is additionally a captive at horse's feet (which is not depicted on the standard ADVENTVS AVG reverse struck at Siscia - see Alfoldi type 5 - contrary to the Adventvs Probi Avg reverse, on which the captive is always present).
Only the 4th specimen of this exact type known to me (the other 3 are cited by Alfoldi in his Siscia corpus)
Provenance: Paul Francis Jacquier auction 45 lot 1540 = ex Ph. Gysen collection
