PROBUS RIC 548 VAR. HELMETED BUST WITHOUT WEAPONS !!!
OBVERSE: VIRTVS PROBI AVG
REVERSE: PAX AVG
BUST TYPE: C = radiate, cuirassed and helmeted bust right without weapons
FIELD / EXERGUE MARKS: E/-//-
WEIGHT: 2.74g / AXIS: 12h / DIAMETER: 19,5-22mm
RIC: 548 VAR. (UNLISTED WITH C BUST AND -/E//- MINTMARK)
COLLECTION NO. 1210

Extremely rare and desirable bust type !!!

This coin is part of the scarce first phase of Ticinum’s 6th emission (according to Pink’s emission classification) with greek numerals of officinae not accompanied by the XXI monetary reform mark. In the much more common and abundant second phase of 6th emission the greek numerals were followed by the XXI mark in the exergue.

The only example of this type known to me. Possibly an unicum!
