CILICIA. Irenopolis. Severus Alexander. Æ 31 (5 Assaria?). A.D. 222-235 (can probably be dated more precisely). Obv: AVTKMAVPCEO(YHPOCAΛEΞANΔPOC or similar). Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right; Countermark before face. Rev: EIPHNO(...).Tyche, to right, seated left on rock; to left figure standing raising wreath (?) towards Tyche; beneath river-god swimming. Ref: BMC -. Axis: 360°. Weight: 19.32 g. Note: Ten pieces of this size depicting Severus Alexander noted by Ziegler (1993). CM: Laureate male head right, in oval punch, 4.5 x 6 mm. Howgego 105 (26 pcs).
