Domitian RIC II 0771
|
Domitian 81-96 A.D. AR Denarius. Rome Mint (3.21g, 18.1mm, 6h). Obv: IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P XIIII, laureate head right. Rev: IMP XXII COS XVII CNES P P P, Minerva standing right on capital of rostral column, with spear and shield; to right owl. (M2). RIC II 771.
During 95 A.D, Domitian’s coinage continued with the same well established pattern of Minerva types. Although worn, the agies is clear on Minerva’s back in this example. The legends are also complete on this example despite its wear.
