Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, Ptolemy V Epiphanes, 204 - 180 B.C.
|Ptolemaic| |Egypt|, |Ptolemaic| |Kingdom| |of| |Egypt,| |Ptolemy| |V| |Epiphanes,| |204| |-| |180| |B.C.|, In a 1994 Article, Stephen Huston and C. Lorber noted the existence of this large horned variety in the CoinEx Hoard, dating the coin and the entire hoard to the time of Ptolemies IV and V. This particular variety is attributed to Ptolemy V.

Matt Kreuzer and Richard Pincock attribute this type to the joint reign of Ptolemy VI and Ptolemy VIII. They believe Huston and Lorber dated CoinEx too early, two eagles always symbolizes joint rule, and the weight of this issue fits a standard used only after 168 B.C. See https://www.ptolemaic.net.
