Thymbra, Troas, c. 4th Century B.C.
|Troas|, |Thymbra,| |Troas,| |c.| |4th| |Century| |B.C.|, Thymbra was near Troy, about five miles from present day Hissarlik. The second of the six gates of Troy was named after it. Thymbra was the location of the temple and sanctuary of Apollo Thymbraios. The coinage of Thymbra is rare, apparently because the city was abandoned in or before the 4th Century B.C.
