The obverse shows a few spots of lead. Poor metal mix of lead into the bronze produced coins with spots of lead such as this. The lead tended to be more reactive than copper, leaving deep pits in manyprovincial bronzes. Leaded bronze coins with a better mixed alloy often have slightly rough surfaces, where lead has reacted with the environment.
