Perhaps the first true coin type that circulated in everyday use. A few earlier types are known but those types are not found in worn circulated condition.

Rosen 279 (1/24th) but unlisted denomination, EF, uncertain Anatolian mint, weight 1.153g, maximum diameter 8.3mm, 650 - 590 B.C.; obverse geometric pattern of an irregular square bisected by crossing lines; reverse geometric square punch with eight triangular compartments; rare; SOLD
