Apameia Myrleia, Bithynia, c. 300 - 202 B.C.
|Bithynia|, |Apameia| |Myrleia,| |Bithynia,| |c.| |300| |-| |202| |B.C.|, Apamea Myrleia was on the Sea of Marmara, in Bithynia, Anatolia. Its ruins are a few kilometers south of Mudanya, Turkey. The city was founded as a colony of Colophon. Philip V of Macedon took the town during his war against Pergamon, and gave it to his ally, King Prusias I of Bithynia. Prusias I fortified and enlarged it around 202 B.C., renaming Apameia after his wife, Apama. In Roman times it was made a colony named Colonia Iulia Concordia Apamea.
