Probus, Summer 276 - September 282 A.D.
In 278, Probus defeated the Alamanni, expelled the Franks from Gaul, and reorganized the Roman defenses on the Rhine. He adopted the titles of Gothicus Maximus and Germanicus Maximus and resettled the Germanic tribes in the devastated provinces of the Empire.BB85089.
