Constantius I, May 305 - 25 July 306 A.D.
Constantius I, was selected by Diocletian and Maximianus as one of two Caesars in the First Tetrarchy. He reclaimed the Western provinces from the separatist empire. Constantius died of natural causes and his son Constantine I succeeded him.RB73859. Billon follis (large), RIC VI Treveri 789, SRCV V 16420, Cohen VII 179, gF, well centered, nice green patina, some marks and corrosion, 1st officina, Treveri (Trier, Germany) mint, weight 6.056g, maximum diameter 28.4mm, die axis 0o, posthumous, autumn 307 - end 308 A.D.; obverse DIVO CONSTANTIO PIO, laureate, veiled and cuirassed bust right; reverse MEMORIA FELIX, two eagles flanking and looking at flaming and garlanded altar, PTR in exergue; scarce; SOLD
