|Volusian|, |Volusian,| |c.| |November| |251| |-| |July| |or| |August| |253| |A.D.|, In June 252, Trebonianus Gallus exiled Pope Cornelius to Centumcellae, a port town on the Tyrrhenian Sea, 80 kilometers west-north-west of Rome. He died there in June 253. The Liberian catalogue lists his death as being from the hardships of banishment; however, later sources claim he was beheaded.

Silver antoninianus, RIC IV 168, RSC IV 25, SRCV III 9743, VF/F, nice portrait, struck with a worn reverse die, Rome mint, weight 3.886g, maximum diameter 21.1mm, die axis 0o, 251 - 252 A.D.; obverse IMP CAE C VIB VOLVSIANO AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind; reverse CONCORDIA AVGG (harmony between the two emperors), Concordia seated left, patera extended in right, double cornucopia in left; SOLD
