Stumped! AR/Electrum id help please
« on: December 10, 2014, 03:04:38 pm »
This coin has got me stumped... no idea at all what is on the obverse and I'm not even sure if its silver or electrum tbh.

1.23gms/9mm... I've added a couple of extra pics with different orientations of the obverse as I dont even know which is the right way up.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Elias

Not Electrum and it doesn't really look ancient either.

It doesnt look suspicious to me to be honest but I have no idea what it is.

It came in a lot of 5 electrum and silver coins from [REMOVED BY ADMIN], all described as being from Lesbos.

I agree with areich - it does not look ancient at all!

Could be an ancient fouree.  It is very stange and the edge looks funny in the picture, as if there'd been an angled rim around it when struck.

Maybe some better photos would help.
