Hadrian Gaza mint... Epidemia date?
« on: November 18, 2014, 10:15:41 am »
Hello, could you help me identified the Epidemia date of this coin from Gaza?
The Gaza mints are all dated and the letters after EΠI on the reverse denote the year. However I am struggling to read the first letter after EΠI.
Is the letter ∆ or Α? If ∆ it means it's dated year 194 Epidemia 5 (AD 133/4). If the letter is Α it means it's dated 191 Epidemia 2 (AD 130/1). Am I right?
Thank you!
