AR Rupee - Mystery
« on: October 17, 2014, 12:34:29 pm »

I would appreciate any information regarding this interesting Rupee of  AFSHADRID, Nader Shah (1148-1160 AH).

I am particularly interested in why the reverse die is small in comparison to the overall flan size.  It is fascinating how the obverse die fills the flan, but that the reverse is so small.   There must have been a reason for this unusual aspects.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I have no explanation for the small die other than maybe it was thought to be esthetically pleasing. The mint is Meshhed.
